Lighting Systems for Cage Keeping

The Fluorescent Lighting System 

Ivelsy® FPL (premium)

The lighting system principle is protected by an international patent;

Energy saving is 6 times and more (compared to a filament lamp)!

•Illumination control is gradual, from 1 to 100%

•The basic application is for parent flock, rearing birds (as a rule, the considerable illumination control depth from 5 to 80 lux is required). Other areas of application are broiler, laying hens.

The illumination control panel Ivelsy® FPL (ICP FPL)

consists of two modules:

• Module 1: manual control. The required level of illumination is set with a handle on the front panel of the module;

• Module 2: automatic control. There is an illumination controller Ivelsy® “Rassvet” installed into the module;

• One control panel runs all the lamps.

The illumination controller Ivelsy® “Rassvet”

A technological programme of illumination for all time of the poultry keeping is recorded into the controller.

•  Day-Night Duration;

• Sunset-Sunrise Duration;

• a set level of illumination (lux)
  are set for every day of the poultry life. 

Illumination sensor Ivelsy® IS

 • is installed in the poultry yard and connected to the Ivelsy® controller “Rassvet”;

•allows keeping a required level of illumination in the poultry yard regardless of lamps dirtying. 
For example, a parent flock is kept more than 300 days. The lamps get dirty during this time. 

How to connect the lamps into the line:

The lamps are connected into the line parallel according to the five-wire-wiring scheme (phase, midpoint conductor, earth connector, and two wires of 1-10 V control).

Suspension clip for lighting systems

Lamps for cage keeping there are two positions of a lamp which are hanged up with the help of a special suspension clip based on a winch:

• Work position. The lamps hang vertically between the cages, turned towards the cages at a special angle that provides equal illumination of all the tiers.

• Service position. The lamps are lifted up horizontally with the help of the winch and a rope system. The aisles become free for technological work and are lit up by the same lamps.

 

The Fluorescent Lighting System

Ivelsy® FML (medium)

Energy saving is 5 times and more (compared to a filament lamp)!

• Illumination control is gradual, from 40 to 100%;

• The basic application is for laying hens. Other areas of application are broiler, parent flock, rearing birds (cage and floor keeping).

Advantages

• Possibility for gradual setting the level of illumination for CFL as in the manual mode, so in the automatic mode that allows performing the technological requirements more accurately.

• Sunset/Sunrise mode for CFL because the Sunset mode is more important for the poultry which has to prepare for sleep.

The Ivelsy® dimmers FML–FD

They are used to manage the brightness of the CFL. The required illumination may be set with the help of a control luxmeter and a handle of the dimmer. All the lamp lines are connected to the same dimmer.

Sunset/Sunrise Mode. Sunset lasts from the set level of illumination to zero during the set period (set in the dimmer, sec.). 

Managing the Day/Night cycles

• Automatic mode is set by the “dry contact” input from the outer Ivelsy® timer Front-2R;

• Manual mode is set with the switch on the dimmer panel.

Running the lamps brightness (the Day/Night cycles included):

• Automatic mode is set by the analog input 1.10 V from external device. As an external device there may be used illumination controller IVELSY ® Rassvet-200, microclimate computer (if an analog output 1…10V is provided);

• Manual mode is set with the switch on the dimmer panel.

Notes:

• In many microclimate computers there is no possibility to connect an illumination sensor that leads to faulty running because of lack of feedback. The illumination sensor Ivelsy® FBS is connected to the illumination controller Ivelsy® Rassvet-200 which allows maintaining the required level of illumination regardless of dust cover on the lamps and other factors during all the period of the poultry keeping.

• The Ivelsy® system FML may be installed instead of the filament lamps into the existing lighting lines. Special small compact fluorescent lamps (power of 9W is compared to 45W of a filament lamp) without a protective bulb are used. The lamps are easy to install in the standard lamps -60 (acorn tube type) or analogues. Mainly such systems are used for the laying hens that do not require a high level of illumination. 

The Fluorescent Lighting System

Ivelsy® FBL (basic)

Energy saving is 5 times and more (compared to a filament lamp)!

• Illumination control is step: 50, 75 or 100%. You can choose one of the levels of illumination with the switcher.

• The basic application is for broilers (cage and floor keeping), there is no need to keep the Sunset/Sunrise mode and accurate illumination level for them.

Advantages

• low price of the system, its simplicity;

• the Ivelsy® dimmers FBL FD (Fluorescent Dimmer) are used to control the brightness of lamps; 

• all the lamp lines are connected to the same dimmer;

• Sunset/Sunrise mode is not provided.

Note:

• The Sunrise mode is provided by the CF lamps construction which turn on at 50%, flare up to the set brightness in two minutes.

• Day/Night cycles are managed at the external control panel with the Ivelsy® timer. The method is switching on/off dimmer power supply.

• The Ivelsy® system FBL may be installed instead of filament lamps into the existing lighting systems. For this, special small CFL (power of 9W is compared to 45W of a filament lamp) without a protective bulb are used. The lamps are easy to install in the standard lamps -60 (acorn tube type) or analogues. Mainly such systems are used for the laying hens that do not require a high level of illumination.

Suspension clip for lighting systems Ivelsy® FML, FBL

• Cable and lamps with bulbs are hanged up on a wire rope with the help of plastic clamps. The distance between lamps is 3 meters.

• The lamps are hanged up on one level at a height 2-3 meters depending on conditions. A required level of illumination depends on the type, colour of litter, walls, and floor because it all influences the illumination.

Lighting systems based on filament lamps

The Ivelsy® controllers – integrated dimmer for filament lamps IDF – are designed for controlling filament lamps. The external controlling devices may be supplied for the controllers.

• Programmable timer Ivelsy® Front-2R runs Day/Night cycles;

• the Ivelsy® controller “Rassvet” with the illumination sensor Ivelsy® FBS runs the level of illumination and Day/Night cycles.
